Help This Baby -”Workout for Xander”

I was just at FoodTown here in Ocean Township getting some dinner since Katie is out of town and saw something that made my heart sink.

I saw a flyer at the checkout (I rarely read these) that was asking for donations for a young baby that has been struck with a rare form of cancer.

Having lost my father to cancer just over 2 years ago, this hit me hard imagining what it would be like to have your newly born baby diagnosed.

I came home and quickly found the story….

Matt & Katie were married in April, 2004.

In October of 2005 along came a beautiful baby boy named Zachary.

In 2006 they bought their first home that they worked so hard for.

I was quickly overtaken by emotion, which rarely happens to me.

So I’ve decided to DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

Here’s the action plan…

From March 1 – March 31 I’m going to donate $100 for every new sign up to my Carbone Fitness BootCamp.

100% of this money will go towards helping

Xander and his family have an opportunity to have a happy,

healthy and productive life.

I’m calling this the “Workout for Xander”

charity drive and the goal is to raise $1200 for Xander

over the next 30 days, so I’m going to need your help.

And for a little added incentive, I’m going to give 6 Months Free of boot camp to who

ever brings in the most referrals.

Thanks in advance for your help.  I really want to try and help this young baby survive and

help his family get back on their feet.

Thanks so much guys,

Greg

* I want to make this even easier to want to help, so I have decided to

throw in BOTH my meal planning systems (valued at $200) for anyone

who is reffered between March 1 and March 31.

I really want to help Xander and his family!

In October  of 2008 they were blessed again with another beautiful boy they named Alexander or “Xander.”

September of 2009 Katie noticed some symptoms that most people would have dismissed as typical of an 11-month-old.  He was crying a lot, had abdominal pain, and chronic ear infections.  Her persistence (and many tests later) lead them to a horrible discovery.  Xander had cancer.  He was admitted to Robert Woods Johnson Hospital on October 8 – that was just the beginning their long journey.

In the meantime, Matt lost his job and was lucky enough to find another one – however the salary was half of what he used to make.

In all of this sadness they are losing their house to foreclosure.Greg Carbone, CSCS, CPT, YFS
